a recent visit to Crane's Snowmobile Museum in Northern New Hampshire we
asked Paul Crane
if he
He told us that Rocket snowmobiles were built by a Mr. Roland Levielle in Berlin NH only a few miles away. The
machines were actually assembled with parts purchased from
Trans Ski snowmobiles in Compton
Quebec.
Roland
Leveille passed away in 2009 and actually
in the 1970's did most of his riding from his
Paul
Crane was not sure of how many Rocket snowmobiles
were built but was aware of one still in existence.
THE PICTURES BELOW SHOW TRANS SKI SNOWMOBILES. Roland Levielle was buying the parts from Trans Ski AND ASSEMBLING SNOWMOBILES THAT HAD THE NAME "ROCKET" ON THE HOOD. A ROCKET SNOWMOBILE WILL LOOK EXACTLY LIKE A TRANS SKI OR IT MAY HAVE A DIFFERENT SHAPE HOOD. IT WILL HAVE THE NAME ROCKET SNOWMOBILE ON THE HOOD. THE COLOR OF THE SLED MAY BE DIFFERENT. IT WILL NOT HAVE TRANS SKI WRITTEN ON THE HOOD OR SEAT. IF YOU KNOW OF ANYONE WITH A ROCKET SNOWMOBILE, PLEASE TAKE SOME PICTURES AND EMAIL IT TO ME. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A ROCKET SNOWMOBILE.
